Enameled Copper Salt Bowl - Saturday Metalsmithing Workshop

FIRE & FLORA: Enameled Copper Salt Bowl Saturday, January 2nd from 2:00PM-8:00PM Take a simple sheet of copper and turn it into something that feels gathered from the forest floor. Shape, hammer, and texture copper into a small botanical bowl inspired by the beautifully imperfect forms of nature. Then bring it to life with colorful glass enamel and kilnfire. Use it for flaky sea salt, herbs, rings, tiny treasures, or whatever else deserves a ridiculously lovely little place to live. Copper. Glass. Fire. Flora. No experience needed. Workshop cost does not include materials. The materials kit fee is $65, includes everything needed to complete the standard project, and is available to purchase from the instructor via Venmo. 6-hour Workshop Cost - Non-members: $125 / Members: $100 NOTE: Eventbrite charges non-refundable processing fees for online payments and now displays these fees in the total ticket price shown on this event listing. Six hours gives us enough time to settle into the studio, learn the techniques, make the work, and finish our pieces without racing the clock. We’ll take a snack break partway through class. Students are encouraged to bring their own snacks and drinks. Metalsmithing is surprisingly hungry work. For safety, students must wear closed-toed shoes and clothing appropriate for working in a metals studio. Long hair must be able to be pulled back and secured. We’ll be working with torches, hot metal, hammers, chemicals, and equipment, so this is not the afternoon for flowing sleeves and Rapunzel cosplay. Additional materials will be available for purchase directly from the instructor via Venmo. About the instructor: Laura Jamison of LJ Studios Metalsmith is an instructor from New Hampshire. Her workshops are designed to be approachable for beginners while teaching real metalsmithing skills.
