Drag Me Outside Ecological Walk at Kindness Farm

🌻 EVENT DETAILS: Join Efemmera and Thespis from Drag Me Outside for a chance to learn about ecological connections that shape the environment and learn more about why places like Kindness Farm are important for our society! Thespis and Efemmera lead low-impact walks in some of Portland's premiere natural areas and use drag as a means of reconnecting people with nature, learning about our non-human neighbors, and building community. Topics that will be discussed: Thespis: Thespis will lead you on a learning walk that is designed to encourage a deeper connection with the natural world through observation, curiosity, and shared experience. Rather than focusing on individual elements of nature, we will explore the relationships and ecological connections that shape the environment around us. Together, we’ll reflect on our place within these systems and consider how humans exist as part of, not separate from, the natural world. Efemmera: Efemmera will lead a focused discussion on ecology, specifically addressing the benefits of biodiversity and permaculture. In a nut shell, Efemmera will be addressing why places like Kindness Farm are so important and why we as a society need to move away from monoculture and large-scale, industrial forms of agriculture. 🌞 This event will take place outdoors at Kindness Farm. 🌲 FREE or By Donation! Pay what you can. No one turned away. 🍄 Please get your tickets here before the event! This really helps us with logistics and preparing for the event. 🚙 PARKING Please park on the farm side of the street anywhere up or down the street. Do NOT park on the grass across the street from the farm (you will see "No Parking" signs). This is important for safety vehicles to pass through. We reserve 2 driveway parking spots (in the gravel, on the right) for folks with accessibility needs. 🌼 ACCESSIBILTY INFORMATION Venue is not certified ADA accessible. The farm's bathroom is not technically ADA accessible, but has been used by folks with wheelchairs. The majority of the farm itself is accessible, though not all parts are (we have some narrow pathways). Note that we use woodchips for the majority of our pathways. 🐝 COVID-19 & Other Illness: If you’re feeling unwell, we kindly ask that you rest at home and join us another time. Masks are not required for this gathering, but you are encouraged to mask or distance in whatever way feels right for you.
