Amy will provide an update on recent developments and opportunities business leaders should be aware of, including the new generation of Opportunity Zones, itemized deduction limitations, and Trump accounts. She’ll also touch on state and local tax issues, particularly the details surrounding Oregon Senate Bill 1507 and its disconnect from many parts of the OBBBA. About the speaker: Amy Moran is a Tax Manager on the Real Estate Team at Geffen Mesher & Co., bringing more than two decades of tax experience serving businesses and their owners. She specializes in tax compliance and planning for closely held businesses, as well as consulting on transactions including like-kind exchanges and Opportunity Zone investments. A former high school teacher, Amy brings an educator’s perspective to her work, helping clients understand their options and make informed financial decisions. SESSION TWO Brady Bryan Author & Entrepreneur The AI-Era Controller: Let AI Handle the Routine. Make Room for What Matters Artificial intelligence is changing how accounting, finance, and professional services approach work. For controllers, that creates an opportunity to rethink how one of their most valuable resources—time—is spent. As AI tools increasingly take on repetitive, lower-value tasks, controllers can create capacity for the analysis, judgment, decision-making, and strategic work that can have a greater impact on the organization. Drawing on his experience building and scaling a professional services firm, as well as insights from his book The Millionaires You Went to High School With, Brady will explore the importance of deliberately protecting time for the activities that create the greatest return—and how AI can serve as a force multiplier in that effort. Attendees will consider practical ways to think about AI as a tool for increasing capacity, elevating the controller’s role, and focusing more time on higher-value work. About the speaker: Brady Bryan is an author and entrepreneur who founded BRAYN Consulting in 2010 and grew it into a 50-person, 15-city professional services firm serving clients across the United States. He led the company through its growth, operated it using the Entrepreneurial Operating System (EOS), and ultimately sold the business in 2025. Brady is a keynote speaker for groups including AIA, ACEC, and CFMA, and is the author of The Millionaires You Went to High School With: Uncommon Wealth from Common People.
