We may know what matters, yet react in ways that contradict our values, strain our relationships, and weaken our influence. That gap is fragmentation, and it can affect students, professionals, teams, and experienced leaders alike. We don’t rise to the level of our preparation. We fall to the level of our alignment. In this engaging and practical presentation, Patrick Dickerson shares lessons from his own leadership journey and introduces Leadership Poise: the ability to maintain alignment among how we think, how we relate, and how we behave, especially when pressure rises. Participants will explore the Head–Heart–Habits model and learn to use the Pause–Align–Lead framework to interrupt reactive patterns, make more intentional decisions, and lead with greater clarity, connection, and consistency. Attendees will leave with a new understanding of leadership poise, which is not merely remaining calm, but remaining true to who they are, what they value, and how they want to influence others when it matters most. Speaker Bio: Patrick Dickerson is a leadership and organizational culture speaker, consultant, and coach with a master’s degree in organizational leadership. Drawing on 20 years of leadership experience spanning real estate, the quick-service restaurant industry, and leadership consulting, he combines real-world experience, leadership research, and practical application. Patrick is the creator of Leadership Poise, a research-grounded approach that helps people align how they think, relate, and behave under pressure. He is a Maxwell Leadership Certified Speaker, Trainer, and Coach, a certified Team Performance Coach, and an NLP Practitioner.
