October BHLD Luncheon | Mike Albin

Join us for lunch on October 21 with a local community speaker sharing practical insights, fresh ideas, and meaningful perspectives. Black Hills Leadership Development Luncheon Date and Time: October 21 at 11:30am Location: The Rushmore Hotel 445 Mount Rushmore Rd, Rapid City, SD 57702 Luncheon Topic: Find your Trail Mike Albin is the owner of Black Hills Running Company. Founded in 2021, Black Hills Running Company caters to the diverse needs of runners, hikers, and walkers in the region. Running had taken Mike around the world and introduced him to incredible lifelong friends. The idea of owning a run specialty store had been simmering in the back of his mind, but it wasn't until 2020, amid remote work, that Mike, with co-owner Dan Jensen, seriously considered it. Pursuing his dream has filled him with joy, and he's thrilled to share his journey with others. Mike cherishes the early morning hours, dubbed “Albin O’clock” by some, when he laces up for his own training. Running before dawn allows him to reflect and gear up for the day ahead. Mike is even known for carrying a notebook on his runs because that is when his bet ideas strike. Mike is grateful for the camaraderie within this community. When customers claim they’re “not runners,” Mike reminds them that pursuing what they love is what truly matters. Whether you’re a seasoned runner or simply embracing movement, you’re living your best life. Tickets for this luncheon will be on sale until Monday, October 19, 2026. Our featured corporate partner this month is KTLLP. Thank you for supporting Black Hills Leadership Development!
