Climate Changemakers RVA Hour of Action

Join us on November 17th for a special hour of productive climate action! Richmond City owns and operates the 8th largest municipal natural gas utility in the nation and, right now, they heavily subsidize new gas customer connections. This is a huge problem for the climate, but it’s also a huge problem for our community’s wallets! Those subsidies disproportionately benefit high-income households at the expense of existing utility customers and lock in fossil fuel infrastructure for decades. These subsidies are unfair and need to go. Can you join us for an Hour of Action to advocate for a city that doesn’t subsidize expensive and irresponsible fossil fuel expansion? There's no need to prepare — come as you are. Whether you're a seasoned advocate or brand new to political action, this space is for you. This is a community space, so being here means agreeing to our community guidelines.
