Swaner Saturday Morning Nature Walks

This outing is appropriate for all ages and will take place on generally flat terrain with a slight uphill grade. Tall grass, uneven footing, and wet ground may be encountered and can be challenging for younger children and some seniors. Participants who do not wish to do the entire 45 minute to 1 hour tour are welcome to turn around at any time during the walk. Tours will be capped at 15 people. Pre-registration is required and must be completed by 7:00 am the morning of the nature walk. We will open the EcoCenter doors 15 minutes prior to the start time. View driving and parking directions here. When there is snow on the Preserve, nature walks take place on snowshoes. Snowshoes can be rented from the EcoCenter if needed - $2.50 for members, $5 for non-members. Please come prepared for the weather. In the Spring, Summer, & Fall plan to come with sturdy shoes or boots, long pants, water, and sun gear such as sunscreen, sunglasses, and hats. In the Winter, plan to come with snow gear, such as boots, snow pants, hats, gloves, coat, sunglasses, and water bottle. Dogs are not allowed to join these guided tours because they take place on sensitive wetland habitat.
