Pranayama Workshop: Where There’s Breath, There’s Life

The breath is your animating force. It acts as a bridge between the body and the mind and between the mind and the spirit. When we work consciously with the breath, we strengthen the connection between all three aspects of our experience, helping to optimize the systems of the body, stabilize the mind, and forge a connection between the individual spirit and the larger life force of the universe. In this two-hour workshop, you will explore different breath techniques to help move your awareness to your inner world and increase your overall sense of well-being. You will explore techniques that expand your breath capacity, soothe your nervous system, and draw you into a peaceful, meditative state. During this workshop you will: • Learn some of the philosophy that relates to pranayama. • Engage in a short asana practice to prepare yourself for breath practice. • Explore 4 different breathing techniques that will help you deepen your connection to your life force. • Enjoy a breath-based Yoga Nidra that will leave you feeling refreshed and enlivened.
