Day Trip: A Grand Night at the Nutcracker

Sugar plums, sequins, and a night out of town! Our Nutcracker day trip in San Francisco is the most enchanting way to celebrate the season. Some holiday experiences are just worth making a trip for, and The Nutcracker performed by San Francisco Ballet is absolutely one of them. This is one of the most celebrated productions in the country, and for good reason -- San Francisco Ballet has been bringing this holiday classic to life since 1944, making them the first company in America to ever perform it. That legacy of excellence shows in every moment on stage. Tchaikovsky's iconic score, performed live by the Grammy Award-winning Orchestra, sets the tone from the very first note. From there, you're swept along with Clara on her journey through a breathtaking onstage blizzard and into the glittering Crystal Palace, where the Sugar Plum Fairy and a dazzling international cast await. The costumes, the choreography, the sheer spectacle of it all -- it's the kind of thing that stays with you long after the curtain falls. And the setting couldn't be more perfect. The War Memorial Opera House is one of San Francisco's most iconic and beautiful venues, the kind of place that makes the whole evening feel like an occasion. We take care of all the driving so you can focus on enjoying every bit of the experience -- from the moment we leave to the ride home buzzing with that post-show glow. Whether you're a longtime ballet lover, bringing someone for the very first time, or simply looking for a holiday outing that rises above the ordinary, this day trip delivers.
