Living Timmy's Dream, A Fashion Show in Honor of Timothy Charles Lee

This event is a vibrant celebration of creativity and style you won’t want to miss! We call this event LIVING TIMMY's DREAM in honor of Timothy Charles Lee, a passionate fashion student whose family remembers him for his love of fashion. Timothy’s tragic story inspires us to fill the house with support and love. Who was Timothy "Timmy" Charles Lee. He was a beautiful, 23-year-old Black and Native American gay man. He was a fashion student in SF, on track to study in Milan, Italy. He was creative and deeply loved. On November 2, 1985, Timmy missed his BART stop and ended up stranded at the Concord BART. He was later found hanging from a nearby tree. Despite the fact that two men in KKK robes stabbed two other Black men in the local area that night, the police and FBI quickly ruled Timmy’s death a suicide! For over 40 years, his family fought for justice. In Timmy’s honor, we are holding a Commemorative Fashion Show. The purpose is to raise awareness about reopening the case as well as to celebrate his stolen dreams and the artistry he never got to finish, a career in fashion design. Please Note: Your ticket purchase covers event costs and admission. It is not tax-deductible and does not count as a 501(c)(3) donation. However, the fashion show proudly raises funds for the Rainbow Community Center Concord (a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit). Rainbow provides critical services and has supported us since our first Memorial Walk .
