Spotlight Artist: Stephanie Owen Stephanie Owen is a San Francisco native, and has been fortunate to build a dance career in the city that raised her. She started as a dance teaching artist, working for youth education programs in schools and dance studios, to choreographing for adult dance video workshops and parades. Her style of dance in choreography is versatile, as she grew up listening to Latin and Hip Hop music, and trained in Ballet, Contemporary, and Jazz while studying her BA in Dance from San Francisco State University. Coming back full circle, she feels inspired to teach and train in one of the first dance styles she learned growing up in the dance studio: Brazilian Samba.
