French for Travelers Hybrid

7-week French course for travelers at San Jose Learning Center. Hybrid format, ages 18+. Planning a trip to France or another French-speaking country? French for Travelers is a short, practical class designed to help you feel more comfortable using French in real-life travel situations. No prior French experience is required. This class focuses on useful phrases, pronunciation, listening practice, and simple speaking skills for common travel situations. Students will practice French for ordering food, shopping, asking for directions, using public transportation, checking in at hotels, making basic requests, and interacting politely with local people. Rather than focusing on systematic grammar, reading, or writing, this class emphasizes practical communication and cultural tips that can make traveling in French-speaking countries easier and more enjoyable. While translation apps and AI tools can be helpful, this class gives students the confidence and experience to speak, listen, and communicate on their own during a trip. Topics may include: Greetings and basic polite expressions Numbers, prices, dates, and time Ordering food and drinks Shopping and asking about prices Asking for directions Trains, taxis, and public transportation Hotel check-in and basic requests Travel vocabulary and cultural tips 7-week French for Travelers course at San Jose Learning Center.
