Intentionalist Awards

Join us to celebrate small business community champions at the fourth annual Intentionalist Awards! Welcome to the Intentionalist Awards! Join us on Tuesday, Nov 10, 2026 at 5:30 PM for an evening of celebration at Colman Commons. Get ready to honor and recognize small businesses in the following categories: 🫂 Community Over Competition – Awarded to the small business who champions, promotes, and opens doors, recognizes that owning and operating a small business is not winner-takes-all, zero-sum game, and is generous with their time, space, products, and relationships for the benefit of other small businesses. ❤️ Heart of the Community: Awarded to the small business who takes care of the community and uses their business as a vehicle to serve and support those in need. 🌍 Cross-Cultural Champion: Awarded to a small business that also serves as a place to authentically experience other cultures and makes cross-cultural connection and learning possible. 🌲 Sustainability Award: Awarded to a small business who leads by example in caring for the place we all call home, whether by reducing waste, sourcing locally, conserving energy, or otherwise showing customers, staff, and fellow business owners that doing right by the planet and doing right by the community go hand in hand. 💪 Workforce Development Award: Awarded to a small business who invests in its people, whether through on-the-job training, mentorships and internships, partnerships with schools, or other programs that offer opportunities for underrepresented communities. 🎨 Arts & Creative Economy Award: Awarded to a small business who makes art and creativity part of everyday life in its neighborhood. These businesses give artists and makers a home, invite the rest of us to create alongside them, and keep our communities culturally vibrant. 📝 Be sure to nominate the small businesses you love for these awards by October 21st. ⏰ Our celebration will kick off at 5:30 PM with small bites + beverages from amazing local brick and mortar small businesses, followed by the awards programming from 6:30 to 7:30 PM. We will round things out with dessert + beverages from more incredible small businesses. 👗 Come dressed to impress and be prepared for an unforgettable evening filled with community, friends, and intention. 💜 Huge thanks to BECU, the King County Executive Office, Seattle's Office of Economic Development, Symetra, and Visit Seattle whose support makes this event possible.
