Full description from organizer

TGIF features thought leaders and industry movers and shakers who will ignite creativity and allow possibilities for women in our community. TEACH GIVE INSPIRE Fridays A Platform for Women to Inform with Passion. ON DECEMBER 4TH – TGIF GETS REAL What happens when we stop polishing the story—and start telling the truth? REAL TALK: Because the Raw Truth Matters brings three extraordinary women to the TGIF stage for an unfiltered morning of truth, courage, resilience and human connection. Together, we’ll explore the experiences we often carry quietly—grief and loss, identity and displacement, relationships, self-worth, reinvention, and the complicated realities of being a woman at any age. These are not perfectly packaged stories. They are real stories—stories of struggle, survival, discovery and transformation. And through deeply personal experiences and hard-earned wisdom, our speakers will remind us that there is extraordinary power in saying the things we are sometimes afraid to say out loud. Because when one woman has the courage to tell the truth, she gives the rest of us permission to examine our own. MEGHAN RIORDAN JARVIS Psychotherapist • Author • Podcast Host • TEDx Speaker • Trauma & Grief Specialist What do we do when life hands us a loss we cannot fix, change or outrun? Ask Meaghan. Meghan Riordan Jarvis, is a psychotherapist and reknowned trauma and grief expert who will bring her professional expertise and deeply personal experience to TEACH women what it takes to move through lifes most challenging moments. Meghan will TEACH us that grief is not something to fear or hide from, but something we can learn to understand, navigate and ultimately carry differently. FARRAH JAVID Global Activist • Iranian Humanitarian • Personal Stylist Behind every headline is a human story. Farrah Javidi knows this first hand. As an Iranian woman who was forced to flee Iran, Farrah brings her deeply personal perspective on the struggles woman face around the world. She uses her lived experience to GIVE voice to other women in order to foster cross-cultural understanding and human connection. Farrah will GIVE us something increasingly important in a divided world: the opportunity to see another person's experience not from a distance, but through her eyes. LESLIE MORGAN STEINER New York Times Bestselling Author • TED Talk Veteran • Columnist • Advocate What if we told the truth about the complicated, messy and sometimes contradictory experience of being a woman? Leslie has spent most of her life doing exactly that. Leslie will INSPIRE us with remarkable candor about the experiences that have shaped her life: juggling career and family, surviving interpersonal domestic abuse, parenting, relationships, aging and self-esteem in a culture that places enormous value on female youth. Leslie will INSPIRE us with what becomes possible when we stop allowing shame, expectations or other people's definitions to write our stories—and begin owning the truth of who we are. THIS IS TGIF. AND THIS TIME, WE'RE GETTING REAL. No filters. No pretending. No perfectly packaged stories. Just honest conversations about the experiences that shape us, the truths that connect us, and the courage it takes to speak them out loud. Because sometimes the most powerful thing a woman can share is the truth. Join us December 4 for TGIF: REAL TALK — Because the Raw Truth Matters. With gratitude and excitement, Barbara Guterman SPEAKER BIOS TEACH — MEGHAN RIORDAN JARVIS Psychotherapist • Author • Podcast Host • TEDx Speaker • Trauma & Grief Specialist What do we do when life hands us a loss we cannot fix, change or outrun? Meghan Riordan Jarvis brings both professional expertise and deeply personal experience to a conversation about trauma, grief and loss—and what it takes to move through them. A clinical psychotherapist, author, podcast host and TEDx speaker, Meghan translates the neuroscience and biophysical science of grief into lessons that are understandable, hopeful and profoundly human. Her book, Can Anyone Tell Me?, combines science with powerful real-world stories to help us better understand what happens to us when we grieve—and how we begin to heal. Meghan will TEACH us that grief is not something to fear or hide from, but something we can learn to understand, navigate and ultimately carry differently. Through her advocacy, Farrah asks us to look beyond politics, geography and differences and recognize our shared humanity. Her work is rooted in empathy, connection and the belief that awareness can become action—and action can create collective impact for underserved populations. Farrah will GIVE us something increasingly important in a divided world: the opportunity to see another person's experience not from a distance, but through her eyes.
