Free program about how graphic novels can be a powerhouse tool for literacy—especially for reluctant readers. Drawn to Reading: How Graphic Novels Build Life-Long Literacy Most kids LOVE graphic novels: Babysitters Club, Wings of Fire, Warriors, I Survived, and more. But many parents worry that these books don't help build "real" reading skills. So let's talk about it! Join us for a free, interactive discussion with middle-school librarian Angie Huesgen about how graphic novels can be a powerhouse tool for your kid's literacy, vocabulary, and critical thinking—especially for reluctant readers. You'll leave with a new understanding of graphic novels, tips to help your young reader succeed, and a list of our favorite recommendations for kids ages 6-12.
