Honoring Brian Newman, A.I.A. - Principal, Newman Design Why Camp Matters In the Bronx, 1 in 3 children grows up in poverty, one of the highest rates in the country. For many families, the opportunity to send a child to sleepaway camp is simply out of reach. The cost is more than financial. During the summer, children from low income communities can lose up to two months of reading skills, while their wealthier peers continue to gain ground. Our Mission Camp Bronx Fund is working to close that gap. Every summer, we send Bronx children to accredited sleepaway camp for two full weeks, completely free for their families. From the moment they arrive, campers hike, canoe, climb, make friends, and build confidence in ways that a city block cannot offer. For many, it is their first time ever leaving the five boroughs. Our Growth We started in 2018 by sponsoring 15 campers. To date, we have sent over 300 Bronx children to sleepaway camp for two weeks each summer. Now we are aiming higher than ever: sending 150 Bronx children to camp in the 2027 season alone. Every dollar raised brings us closer to making that goal a reality. Camp Counselor Table: $4,000 Table for 8, with logo recognition on our website, at your table, and on event LED screens.
