Fact & Fiction: How to Write a Novel Inspired by Family and History

Writing historical fiction is hard. This guided workshop helps participants figure out what questions to ask, how to answer them, and why. What family story keeps returning to you? Why does it matter? What must be honored and what must be let go? If you have wrestled with these questions, you might want to try your hand at historical fiction. Constance Hays Matsumoto’s Fact & Fiction offers a comprehensive, encouraging guide to getting started, sticking with, and finishing the stories you want to get on the page–the stories that won’t leave you alone. The book received a Kirkus Starred Review and was a Publisher's Weekly Editor's Pick. Join us for her reading and mini workshop! Ticket price includes the price of the book.
