HEALTH EXPLORERS™ FALL 2026: TEEN HEALTH & CAREERS

Health Explorers™ helps teens 13–18 build health literacy, confidence, leadership, and advocacy skills through hands-on community learning. Health Explorers™, a Literacy for Health™ program, is a community learning experience for youth and teens ages 13–18 who are curious about health, communication, community leadership, and healthcare careers. Through guided journaling, discussion, workshops, community exploration, guest speakers, and hands-on learning experiences, participants build confidence understanding health information, asking questions, navigating resources, and advocating for themselves and others. Health Explorers™ introduces participants to the knowledge, communication skills, and civic engagement practices that support informed decision-making and future leadership in health and community settings. Serving as an applied extension of the Literacy for Health™ framework, Health Explorers™ demonstrates how literacy moves from understanding into engagement, agency, and action.
