Recovery Kundalini yoga supports returning to wellness from all manner of unhealthy behaviors. There is no aspect of the human condition in which this practice cannot be applied. Addictive behaviors as defined by 12-step programs are three-fold, affecting body, mind and spirit: -A phenomenon of craving -A mental obsession -A spiritual sickness NOT simply a substance use ‘disorder.” Kundalini yoga yokes all three sides of the recovery triangle with: -Pranayama (breath/spirit) -Kriyas (movement/body) -Kirtan (chanting/mind) -Gong sound baths (rest/healing integration) ABOUT KARN Karn has taught Kundalini yoga for 12 years. She recently returns from Swan’s Island, Maine where she had a kelp farm and finished up the fall of 2025 teaching creative movement to kindergarteners up to 5th graders at The Global Idea School. Karn has a Masters in dance and physical education from the University of Iowa and a Bachelors in dance and the humanities from Mount Holyoke College. She taught ballet to modern dancers for over 30 years as well as choreographed, performed, costumed and collaborated on numerous performance art events including film making.
