Who hasn’t admired hand-crafted wooden bowls and wondered how they are made. Learn the process of turning a “blank" into a custom bowl. Have you ever admired hand-crafted wooden bowls and wondered how they are made? In this class, learn the step-by-step process of turning a “blank” piece of wood into a custom-made one-of-a-kind bowl. The instructor will cover setting up and operating the lathe; using it safely; turning a bowl using carbide-tipped tools; selecting stock and mounting it on the lathe; and sanding and finishing. The bowl blank and finishing supplies are included in the class fee. And, take home the completed bowl! Book your spot today. What you’ll do: • Prepare the “blank” using one of our hardwoods • Perform cutting/smoothing operations needed to safely mount the blank • Turn the blank using a range of shaping tools • Sand the final turned piece and apply an appropriate finish • Each attendee takes home their completed project Important Info: • Ages 14+ — minors (14 up to 18) must be accompanied by a non-participating parent or guardian (parent attending with a minor does not need to purchase a separate ticket) throughout the entire class • Class is beginner-friendly — no prior experience needed • All materials, hardwoods, and supplies are included • All necessary safety equipment is provided
