Cocktail Class: Autumnal Flavors and Thanksgiving

Learn to make two fall-themed cocktails, and watch live glassblowing! Join us in the Glass Academy's Michigan Room for an autumnal cocktail class showcasing flavors of the season. During the class guests will learn to make (and then enjoy) two fall-themed cocktails using seasonal ingredients, while local cocktail historian Beth Vandergrift leads a discussion about the history of Thanksgiving in the US as related to cocktail culture. Between drinks, guests will be treated to a live interactive glass-blowing demonstration on the other side of the building in the Glass Academy’s Hot Shop. Participants will end the evening with all recipes used during the class, an appreciation of local handmade glassware, and a few more stories to share with friends. Must be 21+ to attend. As you mix and sip, our glass artists will be shaping molten glass in real time. You’ll feel the heat, hear the tools, and witness the transformation from liquid to solid — adding a layer of energy and artistry that turns your night into more than a class… it becomes a full sensory experience tied directly to what’s in your glass. RULES & WHAT TO EXPECT • You must be at least 21 years old to attend, IDs will be checked. • Dress accordingly as our warehouse is cold in the winter, (we recommend bringing an extra layer), and warm in the spring and summer, (sandels are permitted). • This cocktail class is designed to run 2 1/2 hours. There will be glass blowing classes happening simultaneously with the cocktail class, so you might get a peek at those before your demo. • There will be light snacks provided. You are welcome to bring in food if you want something more substantial. • There is ample free parking on Trowbridge St. in front of our building, as well as overflow parking on S.
