HSI Adult CPR/AED & First Aid Certification Training — Tampa Office

Learn practical CPR, AED and first-aid skills and earn a two-year HSI certification after meeting all course requirements. HSI ADULT CPR/AED & FIRST AID CERTIFICATION TRAINING — ONSITE Prepare to respond when a cardiac arrest, sudden illness or injury occurs. This instructor-led, hands-on HSI course teaches participants how to recognize an emergency, activate emergency medical services, perform CPR, use an automated external defibrillator and provide appropriate first aid until professional help arrives. Participants who meet all attendance, examination and hands-on skill-performance requirements receive a two-year HSI certification. ABOUT THIS COURSE This course is designed for workplace and community responders who need practical CPR, AED and First Aid training. Participants receive instruction, practice with training equipment, participate in emergency-response scenarios and demonstrate the applicable CPR, AED and First Aid skills. No previous medical training is required. Course: HSI CPR/AED & First Aid All Ages Course Length: Approximately 4 hours. Training Format: Onsite, Instructor-Led and Hands-On Language: English Certification: Two-year HSI CPR/AED and First Aid certification after successful completion. WHAT PARTICIPANTS WILL LEARN Course content includes: • Recognizing an emergency and activating emergency medical services • Performing high-quality adult CPR • Using an automated external defibrillator safely • Responding to choking • Using appropriate personal protective barriers • Conducting a basic first-aid assessment • Controlling serious bleeding • Recognizing and responding to shock • Responding to common sudden illnesses • Providing initial care for common injuries • Responding to selected environmental emergencies • Providing appropriate care until professional help arrives ATTENDANCE, EXAMINATIONS AND SKILL PERFORMANCE Successful completion requires: • Full attendance and participation • Completion of the applicable CPR/AED examination • Completion of the separate First Aid examination • A score of at least 70 percent on each applicable examination • Successful demonstration of the required CPR, AED and First Aid skills Registration or attendance alone does not guarantee certification. Tampa Bay Training cannot issue an HSI certification to a participant who does not meet the applicable attendance, examination and skill-performance requirements. HANDS-ON AND PHYSICAL SKILL REQUIREMENTS This is a physical, hands-on course. Participants practice with CPR manikins and AED training units and must demonstrate the applicable skills. CPR practice normally requires participants to work at floor level, position themselves beside a manikin and perform chest compressions. Participants should wear clothing that allows them to participate safely and comfortably. Tampa Bay Training will consider reasonable access arrangements while preserving the applicable HSI certification and skill-performance requirements. OPEN-ENROLLMENT TRAINING This Eventbrite registration is for a Tampa Bay Training open-enrollment class. Open enrollment allows one person or a small group to register without arranging an entire private class. The seven-participant private-class billing minimum does not apply to this Eventbrite event. Organizations with seven or more participants should contact Tampa Bay Training about scheduling a private onsite class. Standard private-class terms include: • $90 per participant • Seven-participant billing minimum • Maximum class size of 20 participants • Onsite, instructor-led delivery • Adult, child and infant options based on the organization’s requirements • Travel charges when applicable CPR/AED-only and First Aid-only private classes may also be arranged. This is an onsite class. It is not a live-online or self-paced course. The classroom is located in downtown Tampa. Participants should plan for paid parking and allow enough time to park, enter the building and reach the fourth-floor classroom before the scheduled start time.
