Celebrating 175 years of schooling in Nairne

175 Years of Schooling in Nairne Open Day Join us as we celebrate 175 years of schooling in Nairne. Since the first licensed school opened in 1851, generations of students, teachers, families and community members have helped shape the rich educational history of our town. This special event will bring together past and present members of the Nairne community to honour this remarkable milestone and celebrate the lasting impact of education in Nairne. Explore 175 years of local educational history through historical displays, gallery walks, photo displays, memorabilia and student exhibits. Reconnect with former classmates, teachers, principals, staff and friends while discovering the stories, people and achievements that have shaped schooling in Nairne across the generations. A highlight of the day will be the unveiling of the Nairne 175th Commemorative Quilt, created by students across the school to represent the history, people and places that have contributed to education in Nairne. During the Official Ceremony, the quilt will be formally presented and donated to the Nairne Museum, where it will be preserved as a lasting record of this significant community milestone. Visitors can enjoy food trucks, coffee vans, a community barbecue, guided school tours led by senior students, and the announcement of the winners of the Nairne 175th Sketching Competition.
