Meet the Authors: South Australian Storytellers

Two South Australian authors celebrate places, pleasures and memories that make Adelaide home — across history and fiction. Scott Smith (Looking Back: South Australian Picture Theatres & Drive-Ins) has interviewed the ushers, projectionists, cafeteria workers and owners who made SA's cinemas tick. Drawing on over 1,000 photographs, many rarely seen, his book is a rich tribute to a beloved era of picture palaces and drive-ins. Joni Page (Beach Shorts a Sandthology) was inspired by Adelaide’s beautiful coastline to write her latest work, a delightful collection of short fiction stories - tales of love, friendship, career, family and second chances, all infused with the optimism of a refreshing trip to the beach. Please note, Geoff Goodfellow is not participating in this event - the print program guide incorrectly mentions him. Books will be available to purchase and sign after the talk.
