Do It for Penny

Do It for Penny is a community event created in memory of 13-year-old Penny and inspired by the things she loved most, animals, music, kindness and connection. Following our recent Against the Odds Podcast with Penny’s dad, Simon, we wanted to create a positive community event that brings families, teenagers and the wider community together while celebrating Penny and continuing her legacy. On Sunday 1 November, we’ll be turning Burrito Bar Tuggeranong purple for Penny. Throughout the afternoon, we’ll have a mixture of different animals joining us in recognition of Penny’s love for animals and reptiles, along with music, family activities and plenty of opportunities for people to come together and connect. We’ll also be accepting donations on the day, with money raised going towards a local animal or reptile park or shelter in Penny’s memory. Do It for Penny T-shirts and hoodies will also be available to order. We’ll have a range of sizes available at the event for you to try on before placing your order. Orders placed on the day will be ready in the following days and available for collection from Burrito Bar Tuggeranong. Alternatively, you can visit our partners at Tee Cartel, located at Westfield Belconnen Shopping Centre outside Kmart. They can organise your Do It for Penny shirt, hoodie or other merchandise, with most orders ready within a couple of hours, perfect if you would like to have yours ready to wear to the event. 💜 Sunday 1 November 💜 Burrito Bar Tuggeranong 💜 1:00pm to 3:00pm 💜 Wear something purple Come along, bring the family and help us celebrate Penny through the things she loved while supporting a positive message of kindness, connection and community.
