Country Music & Spit Roast Festival with Piper Butcher at Historic Rivermill

Historic Rivermill, on the banks of the Coomera River in the Gold Coast Hinterland, hosts a day of country culture, boots and bush traditions. Cowboys & Country is a western festival by the river, running on selected Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Come for the set pieces, or come for the day. What's on Line dancing (10:00 AM - 12:00 PM): two hours on the lawn, taught from the first step. No partner and no experience needed. Reptile show (12:00 - 1:00 PM): meet Australian reptiles up close with a licensed handler, a favourite with the kids. Whip cracking: demonstrations through the day. Stand near enough to feel the air move. Mechanical bull: $10 a ride, or $5 if you follow Historic Rivermill on Instagram. The operator sets the difficulty by age and handles the waivers, so children can have a go too. Horse rides: short led rides around the property, for children and adults. Alpaca and animal feeding. Turtle feeding: $12 a person, down on the river jetty. Market row: local growers and makers. Jumping castle and kids corner. Live country music. Cafe, barbecue and sausage sizzle running all day: breakfast on, lunch from midday. Good to know Entry is free. Parking on site is $5 per vehicle, payable on arrival.
