5Rhythms® dance - Sunday Waves

Sunday Waves – Awaken the Dancer in You 🌟 A gentle and welcoming 5Rhythms® experience for all bodies. Join us for our monthly Sunday Waves, created especially for those who are new to freeform movement and conscious dance. No experience needed. No steps to learn. Just come as you are. This is an invitation to slow down, reconnect with your body, and discover the joy, release, and self-discovery that movement and music can bring. What to Expect 🌈 This class offers a safe, supportive, and inclusive space to explore movement at your own pace. We begin with a gentle, guided arrival to help you relax your body and settle your mind. The music then slowly builds, inviting you to move freely and in your own way — with guidance always available. Halfway through, there is a short pause to introduce the theme of the day and the basics of 5Rhythms®, followed by simple, guided invitations to explore your own dance. We finish with a calm slow-down and come together in a closing circle, sharing a moment of reflection while enjoying a warm cup of tea. You are welcome whether you feel shy, unsure, curious, or excited — there is no right or wrong way to dance here. This class is suitable for absolute beginners through to experienced dancers, ages 16+. People of all genders, bodies, and cultural backgrounds are welcome. We dance with clarity and care. This is a sober, drug- and alcohol-free, dry dance event. Facilitated by Marjolein Akkerman, certified and accredited 5Rhythms® Waves Teacher.
