Discover the traditional Japanese art of Kanna, a wood planing technique that produces beautifully fine, delicate shavings of timber. Join Midori Tanaka of Koitoya for a hands-on introduction to this traditional craft, exploring the skill and precision of Japanese woodworking and transforming delicate wood shavings into decorative flowers. Workshop details • Instructor: Midori Tanaka, Koitoya • Duration: 40 minutes • Cost: $20 per person • Dates: Friday 5 – Monday 8 February 2027 • Places: Limited to 5 participants per session Bookings essential. Select your preferred date and time when purchasing tickets. Held in the Noisy Boatyard as part of the 2027 Australian Wooden Boat Festival.
