Stories & Salsa: A Singles Night for People in Their 50s & 60s (No dance experience required) No dance experience required. There’s something about meeting someone in person. The way they laugh. The stories they tell. The things you discover that would never fit on a dating profile. Stories & Salsa brings singles aged in their 50s and 60s together for an evening of beginner-friendly salsa and guided conversation. A small group, a welcoming atmosphere, and time to get to know each other beyond the usual introductions. Share a few stories, try something new, and see where the evening takes you. Come on your own or with a single friend. Your hosts will guide you through the dancing, conversations and partner changes, so you don’t need to figure it all out yourself. No fancy footwork needed. Just comfortable shoes and a little willingness to give it a go. How it works • Start with a simple salsa step. Easy to follow, with plenty of guidance. • Dance with a partner for a minute or two. • Enjoy a conversation prompt and a few minutes to talk. The questions move from light and playful to a little more meaningful as the evening unfolds. • Change partners, so you have a chance to meet everyone of the opposite sex. • Finish with a relaxed social, where you can return to conversations you’d like to continue. You’re always welcome to sit out a dance or a rotation. No explanation needed. Practical details • 16 places: 8 women and 8 men • Age range: People in their 50s and 60s • Doors open at 6pm for a 6:30pm start • Guided activities finish around 8:30pm, followed by 30 minutes of relaxed socialising • Wear something you feel good in and can comfortably move in • Beer, wine, soft drinks and snacks are included This is for you if… • you’d like to meet other singles face-to-face • you enjoy good conversation and getting beyond the usual small talk • you like the idea of a shared activity to help break the ice • you’re open to meeting someone without putting pressure on the outcome • you’d welcome an evening with a little playfulness, warmth and possibility You don’t need to be an experienced dancer or the most outgoing person in the room. A note about this edition This evening is for singles aged in their 50s and 60s, with women interested in meeting men and men interested in meeting women. We keep the group small and aim for an equal number of women and men, so everyone has the opportunity to take part. Consent and Respect Stories & Salsa is a connection-first singles event.
