Full description from organizerShow less
A hands on two hour workshop on using AI in your innovation work, and knowing where it stops being safe to. Two sessions to choose from. ✨AI is either going to transform health or it is overhyped nonsense, depending on who you spoke to last. Neither view helps you on a Thursday afternoon when you are trying to make progress on your idea. This workshop is about what AI can actually do for you right now. You will use it to accelerate the unglamorous work: researching your market and the competing solutions, synthesising what people told you in discovery conversations, drafting and refining your value proposition, sketching an early prototype or interface and pulling apart dense regulatory and policy documents into something you can act on. Just as importantly, we will be direct about the limits. Health is not a general use case. Patient data, privacy obligations, NSW Health policy and clinical safety all constrain what you can put into a tool and what you can trust coming out of it. We will cover what not to paste into a chatbot. ✨Bring a laptop and an idea. You will spend most of the session working on your own concept and progressing a live demonstration. We run it twice on the same day so you can pick the session that fits around clinic, ward or teaching commitments. The content is identical, so come to whichever suits. You will leave with: A working set of prompts and tools you can reuse, an honest sense of where AI helps your project and where it does not and a clear line on what health data can and cannot go near these tools. Who should come: Clinicians, health workers, nurses, researchers and health entrepreneurs across the Hunter region. No technical background required. Scepticism welcome. 📅 Sessions Thursday 24 September 2026. HILL at John Hunter Hospital. Session one: 11.30am to 1.30pm Session two: 4.00pm to 6.00pm Choose one ticket only. Bring a laptop 🚀Delivered by I2N at the Health Innovation Living Lab, a joint initiative of the University of Newcastle, Hunter New England Local Health District and Hunter Medical Research Institute.
