Cultural Immersion - Speers Point

Caring for the land is about more than weeds and plant identification - it's about understanding the Country we work on, and the people who have cared for it for many generations. Landcare is partnering with Elders, local Aboriginal Community, Rangers and Land Councils to help Landcarers learn about the Country we all live and work on. Understand how to recognise culturally significant sites and materials and what to do if you find these. Discover locally significant plants, seasonal knowledge, and how Country is read and cared for by First Nations peoples. Take part in an on-Country experience; a walk, a yarn, a shared activity guided by local Community, We are connecting with the Awabakal and Biraban Aboriginal Communities. Come with an open heart and mind, that's all that is needed. Free event. Lunch provided.
