Birds of Norah Head

Norah Head offers a selection of habitats from the ocean, rock platforms, sand dunes and forest. As such, birders can expect a wide variety of birds, from Shearwaters, Oystercatchers and Ospreys to Whipbirds and Brushturkeys. Join us and learn how to identify and record local species that contribute to citizen science! You will learn: • tips and tricks to help identify different species of bird from their call, behaviour and plumage • which birds are residents and which are seasonal visitors • about the ecology of the species we will see. This walk will suit anyone interested in birds. Bring binoculars if you have them, water and enclosed shoes. The walk will be approximately 3km return. The track may be steep in parts.
