Whether you're planning for yourself, a family member, or simply wanting to better understand the aged care system, this session will provide valuable information to help you make informed decisions for the future. Morning Session (From 10:00am) University of Newcastle - Older Persons Legal Clinic Learn about legal considerations for later life, including planning ahead, estate planning, enduring guardianship, power of attorney, wills and probate, protecting your rights, and accessing support. The session will include dedicated one on one time with a legal professional, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions, discuss their individual circumstances, and receive personalised guidance in a confidential setting. Carers Gateway Discover the assistance, services, and resources available for carers and those supporting loved ones. Carer Gateway provides free services and support for unpaid carers, including counselling, coaching, peer support, respite services, and practical assistance. Learn more about the support available to help you in your caring role. Lunch Afternoon Session (From 1:00pm) Aged Care Services ACAT Education Representative Gain a better understanding of aged care assessments, why it may be needed, eligibility requirements, and how to access support services, referral pathways and wait times. Gain practical information to help plan ahead and make informed decisions for themselves or their loved ones. RSL LifeCare HomeCare Discover how home care services and support can help older veterans maintain their independence and continue living safely and comfortably in their own homes. Explore how Home Care Packages can provide tailored assistance to support individual needs. This session will also cover practical ways to access services and support, helping veterans remain active, independent, and engaged with their local community for as long as possible.
