Amazing Grace

Beyond the ledger: How unmerited favour overturns the ultimate verdict We operate in a world seemingly driven by meritocracy, where every outcome is calculated on strict yield, risk mitigation, and standard legal equity—you get what you earn, and you pay for what you breach. Yet, beneath the professional success and apparently unrelenting economic progress, many of us carry an unvoiced exhaustion from constantly managing risk, maintaining reputations, and balancing the personal accounts of our lives. At our next Perth Third Space breakfast, Ben Johnston will explore one of the songs written by Israel's King David—a ruler intimately familiar with high-level governance, legal accountability, and catastrophic personal failure—which reveals a reality that operates on a completely different currency. Declaring that God "does not treat us as our sins deserve or repay us according to our iniquities," an astonishing legal precedent is revealed: a sovereign Judge who willingly expunges the ultimate debt, offering unconditional pardon and renewed purpose to anyone willing to step out of the courtroom of performance and into the refuge of His mercy.
