Electrifying the world: The journey and impact of the '35 by 35' electrification target

Electrification is experiencing a defining moment at the center of the global energy and climate agenda. Emerging as the single most effective lever to rapidly reduce emissions, strengthen energy security, and lower costs, a global electrification target has also been announced as one of the priorities within the COP31 Action Agenda: raising the share of final energy demand met by electricity from ~20% today to 35% by 2035 ("35 by 35"). Join us for a free event at Global Citizen Now to explore the origin, economic benefits and strategic execution of the global electrification target. Panellists will illustrate how achieving "35 by 35" delivers cleaner air, lower energy costs, and enhanced energy security globally. The session will highlight how Australian leaders can turn this global flagship pledge into rapid, on-the-ground electrification across key energy, transport, buildings, and industry sectors.
