Workshop: Plant destilation Hydrosol & Essential Oil

FROM PLANT TO ESSENCE A day of harvesting, distillation & plant alchemy Join us for an immersive day at the farm, exploring the journey of a plant through harvesting, preparation and distillation. We will spend the day together experiencing the process from beginning to end — working with the plant material, preparing the still, observing the transformation and collecting the resulting hydrosol and essential oil. The practical process will be accompanied throughout by the Spagyric and alchemical understanding of plants, exploring distillation not simply as a method of extraction, but as a traditional process of transformation, separation and concentration of the plant’s essence. During the workshop we will explore: • Harvesting and preparing the plant according to its characteristics • The still and the essential principles of the distillation process • How temperature, water, plant material and time influence the result • Hydrosols and essential oils: their qualities, uses and preservation • The sensory observation of the plant and its distillate • The traditional Spagyric approach to plant transformation • Plant signatures and their planetary correspondences • The relationship between a plant’s essence and its traditional therapeutic applications • Conscious and sustainable ways of working with aromatic plants Rather than focusing solely on technical instruction, this workshop offers an opportunity to understand distillation through both practical experience and the Spagyric tradition — observing what happens to the plant as it moves through each stage of the process. You will take home a small portion of the distillation created during the day. Herbal drinks are included. Shared lunch: Please bring food to share. We will enjoy a relaxed communal lunch at the farm during the workshop. FULL MOON DRUMMING As the day comes to a close, a Full Moon Drumming Circle guided by John Wife will take place at the farm. Participation is optional, and workshop participants are warmly invited to stay and join the evening experience at a special discounted rate reserved for workshop participants.
