Benjamin Launch Party

Join Matilda Malone for an intimate night of acoustic folk as she celebrates the release of her debut single, "Benjamin". Featuring Sari Abbott in the limited capacity venue of Roads Store in Peregian Beach, Matilda will captivate guests with her unique storytelling artistry. Matilda Malone’s debut adventure into the world of music releases, “Benjamin” draws the listener into an introspective journey through an escapist’s avoidant mind. The Eumundi based folk singer-songwriter has channelled her commanding stage presence into an introspective, mournful piece of music. Best listened to with an earthy cup of tea and dear friend by your side, “Benjamin” explores the emotions brought up when someone you love runs away from everything. The single draws its acoustic and vocal style from Matilda’s formative influences, Eva Cassidy, Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones. The instrumentation of “Benjamin” inexorably builds to a crescendo that elevates the longing vocals. Recorded, produced and mastered in collaboration with emerging engineer and producer Will Ryan Clift; Benjamin was crafted over many sessions, iterations and debates over the best sandwich condiments in his home studio. Mr Clift focused intently on creating an immersive soundscape around an intricate acoustic guitar arrangement, letting Matilda’s songwriting and lyrics shine. “Benjamin” is an entirely independent release.
