Chasing Shadows in the gardens

An experimental botanical art workshop exploring light, shadow and imagination. For our next Botanical Gardens workshop, we’ll be meeting to explore the beautiful world of shadow.. We’ll set up a collection of plants, leaves and natural forms togetehr on our tables, or you a free to find a spot, lay your page and create, using the sunlight and shadows as the starting point for our artwork. we will Work directly onto paper, tracing and drawing around the shadows, allowing the shapes to emerge and become the foundations of our own unique pictures. From there, the artwork is yours to explore. You might use pencil, pen and ink, watercolour, or a combination of mediums to bring your image to life — adding detail, colour, patterns, layers and your own creative interpretation. As always this is a gentle, experimental workshop, and is an invite to look more closely, take some time, play with light and shape, and allow nature to spark our imagination. Remeber your own 'shade' with your hat, as we are heating up now at the gardens. sunscreen and a water bottle is a must. ** we meet on the poincianna lawn circled on the map in red.
