The Art of Intimacy | A couples evening of presence, connection and trust through rope

Most couples spend years learning how to communicate, build careers, raise children, and navigate the busyness of everyday life. Very few are ever taught how to intentionally create intimacy. Not just attraction. Not just chemistry. But trust. Presence. Play. Communication. Touch. The Art of Intimacy is a beautifully curated evening designed exclusively for couples who want to slow down, reconnect, and discover a completely new way of experiencing one another. Beginning with an hour of guided connection practices led by relationship counsellor & mentors Leo & Dan from The Us Project, you'll be invited to soften, become present, and reconnect through simple yet powerful practices that help you feel deeply seen by your partner. From there, guest facilitators and intimacy educators Amber & Marcus will gently guide you through a beginner-friendly rope experience, exploring how rope can become a surprisingly beautiful language of trust, communication, presence and connection. This isn't about performance. It's not about getting it right. And it's certainly not about doing anything sexual. It's about slowing down enough to discover a different way of relating to the person you love. If intimacy has started to feel predictable, routine, or like it's slipped down the priority list, this evening is an invitation to become curious about each other again. No prior experience is needed. This is a fully clothed, non-sexual experience designed exclusively for couples to explore trust, communication, presence and connection in a safe, guided environment. From 6:15pm, you're invited to settle in, get comfortable, and leave the outside world behind. ❤️ Reconnect Leo & Dan from The Us Project will guide the opening hour with a series of simple yet powerful connection practices designed to help you become fully present with one another. Together you'll explore experiences centred around creating presence, softness, curiosity and emotional intimacy with one another. No awkward sharing. No pressure. Just you, your partner, and the opportunity to reconnect in a meaningful way. 🪢 Explore For the next two hours, guest facilitators and intimacy educators Amber & Marcus will introduce you to rope as something far more than knots and technique. You'll discover how rope can become a language of trust, communication, presence and connection. Together you'll explore: • Rope safety and beginner foundations • Embodied consent and clear communication • Simple, beautiful rope techniques • Leading with presence and receiving with trust • Practical ways to continue exploring together at home Rather than focusing on complicated ties, the emphasis is on creating an experience where each movement becomes an invitation to slow down, communicate beyond words, and discover a different way of connecting with your partner. As the rope becomes an extension of your embrace, you'll discover playful, creative ways to deepen intimacy, awaken curiosity, and cultivate a greater sense of trust, grounding and connection together. Every couple will receive rope for the evening as part of the experience. Whether you both choose to learn the ties, swap roles throughout the evening, or simply have one partner tie while the other receives, you're invited to explore entirely at your own pace. ✨ Integrate We'll gently close the evening together with space to reflect, integrate your experience, and (if you choose) share some of your biggest takeaways. You'll leave not only feeling deeply connected, but with a completely new way to continue exploring intimacy together long after the evening ends. Creating Your Nest To help you feel comfortable throughout the evening, we recommend bringing: • Comfortable clothing you can move freely in (think yoga wear, activewear or soft loungewear) • If possible, avoid jeans, bulky belts, belt buckles, underwire bras, or clothing with hard seams, as these can make the rope experience less comfortable • A water bottle • A warm layer if you tend to get cold We'll provide a yoga mat, blanket and two pillows for every couple. You're warmly invited to bring along any extra comforts that will help create your own cosy little nest - perhaps a favourite blanket, sheepskin, yoga bolster or cushions. Rope will be provided, so there's nothing else you'll need to bring. Facilitated by Leo & Dan | The Us Project Leo & Dan are the founders of The Us Project - Relationship Counsellor, Mentors, and Event & Retreat Facilitators passionate about helping couples build relationships that feel deeply connected, emotionally safe, and built to last. Together they bring a unique blend of lived experience and professional training, including a Diploma in Holistic Counselling, NLP Master Practitioner certification, Gottman Couples Therapy (Level 1 & 2), and trauma-informed practice. Over the past decade, they've supported 500+ couples and facilitated more than 150 workshops, retreats and relationship experiences, helping couples move from disconnection to deeper understanding, repair and lasting connection. Their passion is creating practical, embodied experiences that help couples move beyond simply talking about connection... and into genuinely experiencing it. Guest Facilitators | Amber & Marcus Amber & Marcus are intimacy specialists and educators who have spent the past eight and a half years exploring the transformative potential of rope and and embodied intimacy - developing a unique approach that places connection before technique. Together, they believe rope is far more than a collection of knots. It is a language of trust, communication, presence and devotion. Teaching together as a couple allows them to guide participants from both perspectives of the rope, creating experiences that are practical, accessible and deeply connective.
