ABLE: Domestic and Family Violence Bystander Workshop at The Centre, Dural

Equipping Christians to respond to domestic and family violence and address the cultural drivers that sustain it. Active Bystander Leadership & Empowerment Workshop Domestic and family violence affects one in four women in Australia. It happens in every community, including our churches. Ending this violence is not the responsibility of a few specialists alone; it requires all of us to play our part. The ABLE Workshop is an interactive three-hour training designed to equip everyday Christians to become informed, confident, and compassionate bystanders. You will be equipped to: notice harm, challenge violence-supporting attitudes, and respond safely and wisely. Facilitated by domestic and family violence experts, women with lived experience, and counselling professionals, this workshop will help you to: • Understand what domestic and family violence looks like, including the often-hidden patterns of coercion and control. • Recognise how culture, attitudes, and everyday behaviours can contribute to violence and how you can help change them. • Grow in confidence to act, so you can intervene safely when you notice violence or violence-approving behaviours in your church or community. Hosted by The Centre, Dural, this workshop is for all Christians who want to help create communities where all people, including women and children, are safe, dignity is upheld, and love is practised in real and tangible ways.
