"Monday Night Confessions" is a weekly show presenting original jazz/improvised music. Run out of Church Street Studios in Camperdown, Sydney, we acknowledge the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, and pay our respects to their elders past, present and emerging. 28th September 2026 - Dog Tooth // The Trees Dog Tooth Mina Johansson - tenor saxophone Aidan Eccleshall - piano & electronics Saskia Shearer - percussion Jarrah Henderson Jackson - drums Dog Tooth is an emerging experimental jazz ensemble based in Sydney/Eora. Deeply rooted in their experimental and collaborative practice, the group develops co-composed segments with ambient soundscapes, deep grooves and unconventional timbral textures woven in their work. The music moves fluidly through different sections, creating a continuous narrative. Featuring Aidan Eccleshall, Saskia Shearer, Jarrah Henderson Jackson and Mina Johansson. Dog Tooth will present Good Night Moon. Dog Tooth has presented their work across contemporary art and music contexts, including two performances at the Museum of Contemporary Art as part of artist Cerith Wyn Evans’ exhibition opening. The group was also selected to perform in Backstage Music’s Midnight Static concert series, supporting emerging and experimental artists. The ensemble has received support through the Contemporary Music Development - Industry Development grant, enabling a regional tour through Harden and Young, NSW, contributing to the presentation of experimental and improvised music in regional Australia. With a commitment to collaboration and process, Dog Tooth continues to explore new approaches and sounds within Australia’s experimental jazz landscape. The Trees Billy Ward - saxophone & electronics Freya Schack-Arnott - cello Glenn Hopper - piano TheTrees are a new improvised music project comprising Freya Shack-Arnott, Billy Ward, and Glenn Hopper. Drawing from the various musical worlds of its members, TheTrees offers a sensitive, grounded and playful attempt to discover new sounds and feelings.
