Man the Balloon: 2026 MHS Junior Production

Man the Balloon 2026 Year 10 Junior Production Marrickville High School Written by Matt Cameron Directed by Zan Cross Thursday 3 December, 7pm and Friday 4 December, 7pm In a small town square in the middle of nowhere, the citizens are facing an alarming problem: they’re spontaneously combusting. As the population dwindles, hapless balloon enthusiast Elliot tries to uncover the cause and convince the townspeople to do something about it. But with everyone busy seeking comfort, distraction, therapy or someone to blame, finding a solution proves easier said than done. The arrival of a charismatic guru promises answers, though whether he offers any of them is another matter entirely. Man the Balloon is an absurd parable of a small-minded society unwittingly bent on self-destruction. If you were in the same position... would you man the balloon?
