Full description from organizer

The Queensland Manufacturing Hub will be hosting a 2-day Lean Manufacturing Cultural Maturity workshop facilitated by TXM Lean Solutions. The Queensland Manufacturing Hub -Townsville will be hosting a 2-day Lean Manufacturing Cultural Maturity workshop facilitated by TXM Lean Solutions. Redesigned for 2026 in response to industry feedback, this practical workshop takes a fresh look at Lean Thinking and how small and medium-sized manufacturers and contractors can use it to achieve sustainable improvements in productivity and business performance. Lean can help businesses improve productivity and quality, engage employees, reduce waste and better manage costs. Yet many small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) struggle to translate Lean principles into lasting improvements or assume Lean is better suited to larger organisations. This workshop is designed to challenge that thinking. Rather than focusing only on Lean tools, participants will explore where Lean can create value in their business, what can prevent improvement from being sustained, and how leadership, culture and business maturity influence the pace and success of change. What you’ll explore Participants will: • understand why achieving sustainable and profitable growth can be challenging for SMEs, and where Lean Thinking can help • explore core Lean manufacturing and operational principles and learn how to identify waste, inefficiency and improvement opportunities • apply practical Lean methods and techniques that can be used immediately in their own business • understand how Lean can be adapted to the scale, resources and operating environment of an SME • explore the steps required to successfully introduce, implement and sustain Lean • assess the maturity of their business, leadership and culture and consider how these factors affect the ability to achieve change • identify opportunities to improve productivity, unlock capacity and support sustainable business growth • learn practical approaches for building momentum and embedding continuous improvement. Learn by doing The workshop will include a hands-on Lean simulation, giving participants the opportunity to experience how changes to processes and ways of working can influence productivity and operational performance. Importantly, the workshop is designed to move beyond theory. Participants will assess aspects of their own business and identify practical improvement opportunities and actions. Participants will leave with: • tangible actions they can begin implementing immediately • practical self-assessment tools to better understand their current business, leadership and cultural maturity • techniques and guides to support implementation • a library of resources to support their ongoing Lean and continuous improvement journey.
