QLD AI Hub Townsville - Fear & Risk-Taking in AI

Plenty of people are afraid of AI. And some are going the other extreme and using it unsafely. That’s the gap we’re digging into at the next Queensland AI Hub Townsville event: Fear & Risk-Taking in AI. In this workshop-style event led by our #QLDAIHub Townsville director Dr Dianna Hardy, we’ll talk through real-world scenarios and separate the fears that make headlines from the risks that quietly catch businesses out. Scenarios: • A proposed local AI infrastructure development • Should you let an AI assistant see your bills, your bank statements or your business files? • How much access is too much for your AI assistant? • Bring your own experiences and concerns about using AI. If you’re using AI at work or home, thinking about it, or just not sure how worried you should be, come along and share in the discussion. No AI expertise needed, just an interest in how things are evolving. Thursday, 19 November, 5.00 pm The Engineering and Innovation Place, JCU, Townsville
