The Rawabet Closing Festival will take place in Brussels on 5, 6, and 7 November 2026. Artistic works will be presented – performances, concerts, and multimedia pieces developed through the Rawabet programme – alongside three public discussion sessions and the launch of the multilingual Rawabet digital publication. Brussels is a deliberate choice. As the political centre of Europe and one of its most culturally diverse cities, it is a place where questions of belonging, representation, and cultural policy carry particular weight. The festival is not a diplomatic event; it is an artistic and intellectual intervention in a city where these questions are always present, whether or not anyone chooses to name them. Rawabet arrives at a specific moment: funding for cultural mobility is contracting, freedom of expression faces increasing pressure in multiple contexts, and the easy optimism that once surrounded transnational cultural collaboration has given way to harder, more honest questions. The festival does not sidestep these conditions; it works with them – in the programme, in the discussions, and in the choices made about which works to present and how. Deena Abdelwahed is a Tunisian electronic music DJ and producer based between France and Tunisia. She is known for her unique blend of Arabic musical influences and contemporary electronic sounds, an approach rooted in Global Club Music. Since 2017, she has released her projects on the InFiné label, with several EPs, two albums including Jbal Rrsas released in 2023, as well as numerous remixes and collaborations. Whether performing DJ sets or live shows, she brings her sonic universe to stages around the world.
