After graduating from Western University with an Honours BA in Actuarial Mathematics, he followed in his father’s footsteps and eventually founded Polson Bourbonniere Derby. With decades of experience and a strong commitment to continuing education, Paul and his team take a long-term, client-focused approach to financial planning. They pride themselves on providing independent advice without pressure from product manufacturers and often work with multiple generations of the same families. Outside of work, Paul is married with two grown daughters and four grandchildren. He is an avid long-distance runner and marathoner and is actively involved in supporting cancer research and organizations including Ride to Conquer Cancer, Scott and Yonge Street Missions, and Covenant House. At 65, Paul has no plans to retire, viewing his career as an ongoing opportunity to build relationships, solve complex financial challenges, and remain committed to helping clients throughout their lives. Paul has specialized for 30+ years in advising and implementing creative life insurance solutions for many of Canada’s most prominent business families. He works closely with the family members, their internal family office teams as well as their external legal and accounting advisors.
