Rise Up for the Future of Injured and Ill Workers

Injured workers can apply for financial assistance to cover travel and hotel costs. Please indicate your request in the registration form below by August 7, 2026. ONIWG may be able to consider requests for financial assistance after August 7th, however please send an email to [email protected] in addition to filling out the form, to notify us of your late request. The agenda for Thursday October 1, 2026 will include several panels and campaign highlights on topics related to injured and ill workers, including: Claims Suppression, Occupational Disease, Psychological Claims, recent proposed changes to Ontario’s workers’ compensation system (Bill 105), and more! There will be union representatives, workers compensation experts, researchers, legal clinics, and injured workers learning and building connections together. Friday October 2, 2026 will focus on ONIWG building the injured workers’ movement. We will talk about the history and future of the injured workers’ movement, learn leadership skills that will help us build and lead local injured workers groups in an inclusive manner, and hold ONIWG’s Annual General meeting (election of the ONIWG Board of Directors and other ONIWG business). We will finish the day with a dinner and social gathering to get to know one another better and build solidarity.
