What to Expect: Whether you're a seasoned puzzler or have never tried a puzzle, this event offers something for everyone. Our events are a great way to connect with members of local communities and are perfect for folks arriving in Toronto looking to make new friends. Begin by grabbing a delicious drink or nibble from the Twilight Café menu, get ready to puzzle! Each table will start with a brand-new 500-piece Villager Puzzle. What is a Speed Puzzle Competition?: Players work together on a single puzzle. Communication, teamwork, and shared strategy are key as the group races other teams to complete the same puzzle. Villager Puzzles: As seen on Dragons Den, these uniquely designed puzzles are perfect for a cozy night game night. Each puzzle is a stunning piece of art designed by a Canadian female artist. With a matte finish, made from recycled premium paperboard, each puzzle supports a women-owned business, which in turn supports women designers, who all work to make a positive impact locally. General Admission Tickets: Admission includes access to the Twilight Cafe reserved second floor, an on-site competition host, and a take-home Canadian puzzle by Villager Puzzles. Tickets are priced and sold per group. Tables are available for: • Standard Competition, 500 Piece Puzzle, 2 Players - Play for the glory! These are official competition tables, so teams may play for the Grand Prize, and their scores will be tracked on the Changeling Leaderboard. • Casual Competition, 250 Piece Puzzle, 2 Players - Play for the fun! Great for first-time puzzlers. These tables may not win the competition Grand Prize, but are here for the joy of puzzling! Their scores will still also be tracked on the Changeling Leaderboard. • Casual Competition, 500 Piece Puzzle, 3-4 Players - Play for the fun! Great for catching up with friends. These tables may not win the competition Grand Prize, but are here for the joy of puzzling! Their scores will still also be tracked on the Changeling Leaderboard. Membership & Passes: Changeling Gaming Memberships include event discounts for our community. After just two events within a 30-day period, our members save, with the potential of over $80 per month! For this event, since product is included, there is no discount for members. Waitlists & Walkups: Tables are held for the first 20 minutes (from 6:30 to 6:50pm) before they are sold to those on the waitlist or walkups. The competition will start at 7 PM sharp! If you are late and your table is available, you may still join in, but your time will not be adjusted. Prizing: The winners in first place at the Standard Competition Tables will receive tickets to the next speed puzzle competition event at Twilight Cafe Midtown, giving them the chance to return and compete again for 1st place! And win or lose, all teams competing will have their scores added to the Changeling Gaming Puzzle Leaderboard. Will you be one of our top community records for speed? About Twilight Café: Twilight Café was founded with a simple yet meaningful vision—no matter if it’s day or night, people should always be able to connect and enjoy a good time together. Across their venues in Toronto & GTA, Twilight strives to offer high-quality coffee, brunch, and snacks, ensuring that anyone can come by, not only for games but also to study, coordinate meetups, and have a great food experience too. Food & Drink: Twilight Cafe’s menu blends cafe classics (coffee, brunch), Asian-inspired comfort meals (rice, noodles, dumplings), hearty snacks, sandwiches, and fun drinks (bubble tea & lattes) — making it a hybrid cafe + casual restaurant rather than just a coffee-only spot. They also offer a delicious menu of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and specialty drinks, including bubble teas to choose from. There is no minimum spend, but we strongly encourage purchasing something as able to support the venue so we can keep returning for more gaming experiences. The recommended minimum is $20 per person (~ one drink and one food item)from the Twilight Cafe Midtown menu. What's the Space Like?: Changeling aims to craft the best gaming experience when at our partnering venues while respecting their space, regular services, and capabilities. While we can’t always make adjustments to our shared space, we can still provide information to help you make an informed decision about attending.
