We’re fallin’ in love with these lovebug cookies! Join us in class to learn the basics of decorating sugar cookies with royal icing. Interested in learning more about decorated sugar cookies? Flutterby Sweets and Treats is here to help! In this 2-hour class, we'll cover the basics to sugar cookies (so – yes, it’s beginner friendly!), do some piping practice with royal icing, talk about how to strategize the best ways to decorate sugar cookies, and cover the general concepts around dough and icing! Everything you'll need is provided in class along with a live in-person instructor – just bring a smile (and maybe an apron). Grow into the wild world of sugar cookies and leaf your RI confusion at the… garden? We’ll be “rooting” for you in this ladybug-themed cookie class! This class has 6 cookies and 5 icing colors to get us outta the weeds, Bring a “bud” and come to cookie class! You'll leave class with a great understanding of the basics of sugar cookies plus a few cool techniques we'll cover in class! About this Class This class is for the beginner cookier or for the person who is just curious about what cookie decorating is all about! If you have limited experience with sugar cookies, found yourself frustrated with royal icing, or if you're trying to have fun with family or friends, this is the class for you! We’ll be decorating six ladybug-themed cookies – we have “mush” to learn! We provide everything you will need from cookies, icing, sprinkles, and a box to take your awesome creations home in - we just need YOU! Each to-be-baker gets 6 cookies, 4 icing colors, sprinkles, and all the tools necessary to knock this cookie class out of the park! Everything is prepped right before class – so no baking or icing mixing required. Just decorate! This class is on 9/27/26 1:00-3:00 pm sharp so we can have enough time to decorate and answer questions along the way. Come by yourself, bring your best friend, or bring the family - we have seating for up to 20 people! It's a blast whether you're coming with a friend, family member, or solo! This class is appropriate for kids ages 10+ who are accompanied by an adult ticket holder. This class is good for ages 10 to 100, but if you'd like to leave the kiddos at home, purchase an add-on kit (more on that below)! The kits are great for kids at home, plus - we'll send you the class presentation so you can teach them yourself! The class will be held at Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road, Sequim WA 98382. Nervous about the parking situation? Don’t be! Parking is pretty easy - free parking is located on site. Things to Bring Wondering what you need to bring to have a successful time decorating? Well – nothing’s required – but here’s the things we recommend if you’d like to elevate your experience! • Bring an apron! Things can get messy when you’re workin’ with royal icing – so grab an apron (bonus points if it’s cute – I’ll definitely be asking where you got it). • Bring your glasses! There’s a reference sheet to help you decorate, but if things get blurry far away, seeing glasses may be a great bet. • Bring your phone! I love it when students take pictures throughout class – so bring a phone! • Bring a mask if you’d like! These classes follow the state health guidelines, but if you’d like to wear a mask throughout class – please do! • Bring a good attitude! Cookies are fun, but they're also challenging! A good attitude makes all the difference. About the Baker Who doesn’t love getting out and doing something fun while also eating delicious cookies!? That’s what Flutterby Sweets and Treats is all about! This class is in Sequim, Washington and caters to the beginner cookier or people just looking to have fun learning a new skill. Whether you just want a fun date, a girls-or-guys-night-out or just want to explore what cookie decorating is on your own - we have a seat for you. You will get a set of pre-baked cookies (pretty tasty if I do say so myself) as well as all the supplies you will need to decorate them during the 2 hour class. You will leave the class with your very own box of your very own newly decorated cookies! You can also purchase a take home DIY kit so children or other family members can get in on the fun too! I will even send you a powerpoint presentation to so you can teach your children, or use as a reminder for yourself. A little about me – I’ve been baking sugar cookies since I was a new Mom in 2000, but I really jumped into it enthusiastically in 2019– and I’ve not put down a scribe since (don’t know what a scribe is? I’ll teach you in class!). My favorite cookie themes to decorate are kids' birthdays, baby showers, bridal showers and weddings, – but I can do pretty much anything if icing’s involved. I love what I do –who wouldn’t love making cookies?! It’s the sweetest job in the world! Cancelation / Refund / Sick Policy Cancelation Before 7 Days Out: Prior to the 7 -day refund cutoff, you can cancel for a full refund! After 7-Days Out: For cancelations prior to your class’s start time but after the 7-day refund policy, please email us before your class’s start time, and you will receive credit towards an upcoming class! You Don't Show Up or Email Prior To Class: If I do not hear from you before your class’s start time, and you do not show up for class, I won’t be able to offer you a refund or roll you into the next class even if you're sick. So please reach out before class if you’re feeling sick! DIY / Add-On Kits Order your sugar cookie class kit and take the class home with you to teach a child or friend! These class kits come with everything you'll use in class, and I’ll email you a PowerPoint so you can follow our step-by-step instructions from home! Cookie Class DIY Kits are created before your class, and you'll pick them up and take them with you after class. How long can a kit last? Depending on how you store your icing, your kits can last for a week or longer. Freezing cookies keep them fresh for a long time, but I recommend using your kit as soon as possible - ideally in the first week after you've taken it home. Cookies are heat sealed for freshness – but again, use it in under a week to make sure it tastes the best.
