About this event
Learn the basics of pickling and water bath canning. Harvest season is in full swing, and it's time to look at what foods we can preserve for winter enjoyment! At this hands-on workshop, we'll can pickled carrots in glass jars, using a boiling water bath to seal the jars for a shelf-stable creation we can store or gift.

As we preserve the pickles in glass jars, we'll also cover the basics of modern boiling water bath canning techniques, equipment, safety issues, and resources for the home canner. Each participant will take home jars of pickled carrots, recipes, and helpful information for learning more. Join us in the United Commons Kitchen at 932 Balmoral Road from 6 - 8 pm.
